 At Moe’s Soapbox, we are always in search of quality, old fashion products to carry, so our hand thrown pottery Shaving Mugs, were a wonderful addition to our product list! While at the New Bern Convention Center in NC, a man with a rather LARGE handlebar mustache approached us and asked if we made shaving soap to go in the mug. Well, I asked him to help us design a soap, and we would! He went on to explain that it must be firm, yet produce a large bubble, in a suitable lather. From there, we would need skin and beard softeners, astringent, good slippage for the brush to swirl in the cup, and finally something to tighten the skin afterwards. Wow, I wondered, “Are we making wine here or soap?!” I had no idea men were looking for so much in a soap! He assured me that “Men of the Cup” were always in search for a great soap for their cup and brush. These conversations led us to some intensive research and we are pleased to announce that we have accomplished this soap!
We start with a vegetable glycerin base (softeners) added sea kelp and clay for slippage. Natural lather enhancers. Rose and witch hazel for astringent. Aloe, Emu Oil, and castor oil to soothe the skin. Grapefruit seed extract and vitamin-e are added for their medicinal qualities.
Blues (dk. blue, Lt. Blue), Greens (Teal, Lt. green), Grey's (Dk. grey, Lt. grey), Naturals (Tan, brown) Colors may very as these are all hand made mugs.

HOW TO USE:
Unwrap soap and place in a microwavable dish. Melt slowly for about
20-45 seconds, until liquid. Pour into mug. This creates a form fit
for your soap in your mug, increasing the lather capabilities! Wet
brush under nice hot water and swirl in the cup until you get the
right consistency of lather. Proceed as usual with your shaving.
Great on a winter morning for a fresh, hot lather on your skin!
Reorder soap early as they are handmade and our processing time can
be up to three weeks. We hope you enjoy the simplicity of using and
old fashion cup and brush. Shaving really can be a relaxing,
delightful time of the day. Perhaps this can be a chance to center
your thoughts, and prepare for the hustle and bustle of life.
