First, a bit about whom we are, and what our business philosophy is.
In 1996 as a home school family, with 10 children, we became fascinated with a desire for old fashion crafts.
Adding to our love for herbal health, gardening, and along with a desire for healthy living, we began to explore soap making as a way to bless our friends with natural gifts. Little did we know, how much our family and friends would love homemade soap! Our first year, we canned garden vegetables, made candles, and sent along our first batch, of very rustic and not so glamorous looking soap. It was a hit from the beginning. Right away the reports came in of softening skin problems, relieving eczema, and the overall pleasure of using a handmade bar of soap. At age 13 our oldest son, had been on medication for 2 years to clear up his acne, which was destroying his immune system, and he turned to me and asked, “isn’t there something we can do with our soap to help my acne” He was right! With all my knowledge of herbs, and natural essential oils, why was I not incorporating them into my soap! After much research, and council, we mixed together a vegetable based soap (in order to get the full benefits of the essential oils) and some very known skin healing essential oils and with in one day, our son’s skin was clearing up from the little bumps associated with acne. Next he requested an astringent. Little did we know this herbal based product would become a natural deodorizer, bug repellant and muti- purpose product. Again, his face cleared up even more. At this point, my husband (then, a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy) returned from a medical conference, where he learned about Emu oil, and how it was being used at John Hopkins’s University in the Burn Unit to treat small children that had been the victim of severe burns. They reported that its ability to rejuvenate the skin cells was beyond anything they had used before. Upon further research we learned that Emu oil has a list of benefits and were one of the very few oils that penetrate the skin at a
cellular level, relieving even inflamed muscles and joint pain! (see benefits of Emu oil) That became the motivation to learn the lotion making process. Of course, we added those same medicinal oils from our Tea Tree soap to make a wonderful, medicinal lotion that many would claim relieved major symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and acne, as well as muscle and joint pain. Before I knew it, my friend had designed a website for us while my husband was deployed, and we were off and running as a family owned and operated business!
Reports came in from every customer that even their dermatologist prescription medicines were not working as well as our Emu oil lotions and Tea Tree products. This was very exciting news to us, as we began to see that we had developed a natural product that was helping people with very severe skin problems. We could hardly keep our products in stock!
Continued research is an important part of who we are as a business. We spend hours every week learning and reading new reports on skin care, so that others might benefit from our products. The simple things we have learned have lead us to this basic philosophy of what you will NOT find in our products:
Excessive raw alcohols (drying and cheap)
Excessive sodium products (drying)
Petroleum based or mineral oils (cheap, and damaging to the skin) Chemical fillers added for lathering, or thickening purposes
It is the goal, and purpose of our business, to provide our customers, as well as yours, with natural alternatives to toxic skin care products. Our philosophy always has been and will continue to be: “YOUR SKIN IS OUR BUSINESS”. We care for your skin as much as our own. We welcome your input, ideas, and skin concerns. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Naturally Yours,
Moe
